2016-2017

Players and Parents,

            I would just like to introduce myself and pass on a little information about what to expect in the upcoming year. I know with a new coach, there is always some changes in the way things are done, so I thought I'd pass some information that I thought would be helpful. Myself and the other coaches look forward to meeting all of you.

TEAM APP:

            If all players, parents and coaches could please download Team App onto your cell phones. This is a great communication tool that we can send out in a blast instantly.

How do I get it: Download Team App from the App Store or Google Play, search for your team in the search bar at the top of the screen and click on your team to join.

ATHLETIC WEBSITE:

            There is a new athletic website linked to the LHS website. You can go directly to the website at www.lovelandindians.com. We will post information there also.

Weight Program:

            Starting around the 1st/2nd week in November, we will have a voluntary weight program set up for all players interested in playing baseball that are not participating in a Winter Sport.  This will run through the winter months before tryouts begin February 27th.

Winter Workouts:

            Starting in January, Voluntary Gym workouts will begin 3 days a week. These workouts will be for everyone, but most important, this is the time Pitchers should attend to start the process of getting their arms in shape. These will run until tryouts begin February 27th.

Spring Break:

            Spring  Break this year will begin Friday March 10th. All baseball players will be given the Days of Saturday March 11th through Tuesday March 14th the days off. Players should be available for practice on Wednesday March 15th at 4 PM. We will have games Thursday through Saturday. Varsity possibly will have an overnight trip in Grand Junction.  Please plan your vacations accordingly.

SUMMER BASEBALL:

            Next summer we would like to keep our teams together as much as possible. We feel that this is an important part in developing a winning program. We plan on a full summer with better competition, and tournaments. If you have a different feeling about summer ball(club ball), players and parents, please contact me before making any decisions to decide what is best for your situation.

FUNDRAISING:

            I realize everyone hates fundraising, and I am one of them. However, in this day and age, and especially in the R2J district, it is a must to run a quality program. I have been doing inventory over the last few weeks, and many things are needed. Our uniform situation is not in very good shape, we haven't a pitching machine(s), equipment is pretty non existent. If anyone has ideas on fundraising, please contact me.

PLAYERS RESPONISBILITIES:

            If your son makes a team, he will be responsible for baseball cleats, game pants, team t shirt, undershirt and hat. We also encourage him to have his own helmet. We will have a website where all these things can be purchased. All levels, game pants will be white, with black stripe down side.
