Head Cross Country

Biography:

A little bit about who I am and where I came from. I am Married with 3 children my youngest is going to be a senior this year at Mountain View.  I am originally from Monroeville, PA (Pittsburgh) I started running distance when I was 11 years old. I began running because I had asthma and my doctor had advised me if I didn’t over do it that running could help build up my lungs. I ran both Track and Cross Country in High School and received a scholarship to run in College. I completed my first Marathon 26.2 miles when I was a freshman in HighSchool ( I do not recommend this as I have paid dearly over the years and my coach was not very happy me.) I started coaching in 2002 as the Head Cross Country Coach for the Brush Beetdiggers in 2005 the girls team was runner up at the State meet. During those years we won several Regional and league titles on both the girls and boys teams which qualified for state as a team almost every year. In 2012 I Coached the 3A boys XC State champion who also won the 1600 and 3200 in Track in 2013.  While in Brush I was a restaurant owner, Volunteer Firefighter for over 15 years and started an online ordering business for food delivery called OrderUp. We moved to Loveland in the Fall of 2014 because my business OrderUp was growing and the restaurant in Brush was having building and landlord issues. I helped Coach Kevin Clark the last 2 seasons at Mountain View as our girls team won the State XC meet in 2014 and Boys Track team won State this season.

Assistant Cross Country

Biography:

I began running on a team in sixth grade at Bill Reed Middle School.

Back then I was like so many others—I loved competing in a number of sports, especially basketball and soccer—but was hesitant to join cross country. Cross grew on me over the years though.

After Bill Reed I ran for Loveland High and laced them up with some solid runners and awesome people. Our boys’ teams won back-to-back Front Range League and regional championships my junior and senior years and I had personal best times of 9:58 in the 3,200 and 16:08 in cross country.

I also competed for Luther College, a Division III school in Iowa and will be in my fourth season as a cross country assistant this fall.

Go Loveland XC!

Assistant Cross Country

Biography:
As an assistant coach I have a very unique love and dedication to running. When I was ten years old, I lost my father and twin sister to a drunk driver;while recovering I also had to re learn how to walk. Running became an outlet for me to dare to do what I was told I could never do again.

I have been running competitively for the past nine years, starting with eighth grade Cross Country to high school and college Cross Country and Track and Field. When I started high school I was running twenty minutes in the 5k. At the end of my college career at The University of Northern Colorado my best time was 17:49. My other event was the 10k where my personal best was 36:23.

With the right mindset and support, I believe that any athlete can reach their full potential. I am extremely excited to help these young adults reach that goal.
